Isaac Palatt started climbing in 1998, at the age of 12, for a sixth-grade homework assignment, and has been hooked ever since. His first outdoor climbing experiences were on the perfect sandstone and limestone cliffs surrounding his home town of Las Vegas, NV, both of which have left their marks on his climbing and route setting styles.
Having moved to Southern California for high school, Isaac got to explore all the diverse styles of rock the state has to offer, before attending art school in New York and then spending a short time living and route setting in England.
Since returning stateside in 2011, Isaac has been route setting, coaching, developing, and training for climbing full-time, or simply, “living the dream,” as he puts it. His favorite destinations include the Black Mountain area of Southern California; Hueco Tanks, TX; Bishop, CA; and Red Rock and Mt. Charleston, NV.
Isaac moved to Colorado Springs, CO in 2016, to continue his career as a setter and coach at CityROCK climbing gym. He’s excited to explore all of the varied climbing opportunities that his new home state has to offer and looks forward to continuing to share the sport he loves with everyone he possibly can.
