Hunter Damiani is a 29 year old professional artist based in Boulder, CO who uses climbing as one of his many artistic mediums.
He is a rare breed of male climber, standing a short 5 foot 3 inches tall. He began climbing at the age of 14 in Melbourne Beach, Florida and after a short stint in competitions he moved to Colorado in 2005 to pursue more mountainous landscapes. Hunter’s art took priority over the next six years as he focused on honing his craft to a professional level, he returned to climbing in 2012 with unstoppable psych.
Combining his creative mind with a love of the outdoors, Hunter spends his time exploring potential new areas, seeking out first ascents, and climbing as much as possible. Hunter currently route sets at the Spot Bouldering Gym and for the past 10 years he has created the infamous tape art murals for the Spot Gym’s Psychedelia competition. As a professional artist Hunter seeks creative expression through all forms of art: He draws, paints, tattoos, does photorealism and psychedelic art, tape art and graphic design: from creating logos, beer labels, artwork for catalogues, clothing designs to even screen printing the clothes himself. Hunter’s art has no bounds and his vision reaches for the skies.
His goal is to create new climbing for a growing community while expressing himself on and off the rock through his own artistic interpretations.
Hunter lives the true dream of a starving artist, dirtbag climber…“Goonies NEVER say DIE.”
