Chris grew up in the Salt Lake City, UT. Area and has been climbing for over 15 years. He was introduced to climbing by a co-worker while working at a bagel shop. After his first time out he became absorbed in the sport. His early years of climbing were spent in competition and climbing throughout the Wasatch Range bouldering and sport climbing.
Wanting to leave his home town Chris moved to Oregon to climb at Smith Rocks and attend college. During his college years he worked in a gear shop as a climbing guide and instructor. He assisted in the development of Ashland Youth Climbing Program in Ashland, OR. His primary focus was coaching the climbing team and being a mentor. After Chris graduated college he spent some time traveling around the Big Island of Hawaii camping and surfing.
He returned to Salt Lake City and began working at The Front Climbing Club developing youth programs and building the youth climbing team. Over the past 10 years Chris has become a fixture in the Wasatch climbing community. He enjoys traveling and climbing through out the west spending most of his time in Idaho, California, and Southern Utah. When Chris isn’t planning his next climbing trip he is planning his next surf trip.
