Alex Kahn


Alex actually can’t remember a time in her life when she wasn’t climbing, because her mom is a climber. Climbing inside, outside and around the world throughout the year is just how she spends her free time. When Alex is not climbing she is either taking photos, making videos, reading, writing or enjoying another type of exercise- like dance, Pilates, hiking and more. She doesn’t sit still often and she is always looking for the next challenge and the next adventure.


What’s in your fridge right now? Variety of vegetables and 0% Siggi’s yogurt- I should get more food


Lifetime climbing goals? Grade wise I accomplished it in bouldering but there are a few specific lines I would like to do like Vigilante in Red Rocks and Clear Blue Skies on Mt Evans. I’d also love to climb 14a but a beautiful one in a cool place- need to pick it, maybe in Ceuse?


If you won the lottery what’s the first thing you would do? Pay off my entire mortgage so I only had a tiny monthly payment, pack a suit case, buy a few more pieces of camera gear and travel the world!


What did you do growing up that got you into trouble? Never accepted blame. Oops! Been working on changing that flaw for a long time, was told I should be a lawyer since I always wanted to manipulate the truth!


What’s the best/worst gift you’ve ever received? Best- private Indian cooking classes during the day and pizookies and avocado egg rolls for dinner! Worst- can’t think of one


What would you want for your last meal? Hmmm it would have to be spaced with palette cleansers in between because the flavors would all clash and I’d have to climb for like 7 hours before so I could eat it all.. I would start with amazing fresh French bread, locally made olive oil, olives and an assortment of French and Spanish cheeses, next tako yaki as an appetizer, then a second appetizer would be authentic French onion soup, the final appetizer would be tuna poke with shoyu, then I would go for a fresh mediterranean seafood dish, with a fresh made papperdelle in brown butter and crispy sage, then I would finish the night with a few mini desserts- an Italian cheesecake, a pizookie from BJs, key lime pie from key west florida, and canolli from Sicily.
