Larry is an internationally certified Mountain guide based of the tiny hamlet of Mazama, WA. He is co-owner and lead guide for North Cascades Mountain Guides. In addition to year round guiding, Larry teaches courses for the American Mountain Guides Association, helping to train the next generation of mountain guides. While his career takes him to many spectacular places around the world and across the US, his favorite days are spent exploring the granite spires in his backyard at Washington Pass where he has established a number of the area’s classics. Larry considers himself really fortunate to have had the mentorship of some amazingly accomplished, yet humble climbers, and now finds almost as much pleasure in sharing the magic of the mountains with his friends and guests as he does from being out there on his own.
If you won the lottery what’s the first thing you would do? Take a year long road trip with my wife and daughter.
What would you name the autobiography of your life? Don’t settle for less than your dreams.
What did you want to be when you grew up? Hopefully old and retired…(you are never too old to have a good childhood!)
