Gabriel Olson

Gabriel has been climbing for about 2 years. With background in photography he quickly decided that he wanted to be a professional outdoor/adventure photographer. Spanning from lifestyles, hiking, mountaineering, landscapes, adventure, action, and climbing photography, he constantly finds himself outdoors. Taking to the road in his converted Ford F150 pickup truck, he can travel on the road at any time and be completely self sufficient. Just him and his Siberian Husky/German Shepherd mix pup. (Bowie. Actually 9 years young)
After only climbing for a short while he managed to get in with a great group of climbing athletes and take photos all over northern California. From Donner Summit to Yosemite. The highlight up until now was photographing this group of climbers on El Capitan for 4 days. This required him to have to rappel from the top of the rock about 800’ down to reach the climbers and follow them to the summit with the fixed lines.

Gabriel looks forward to more adventures and hopes to keep meeting amazing athletes and share his own stories as well as others through photos, videos and writings. He is always up for a new adventure. Don’t hesitate to reach out to him through email or phone. He strongly urges people to do so!

Lifetime climbing goals? Climb mountaineering style through a region that has not yet been climbed or scaled.

If you could invite anyone to be your dinner guest, dead or alive, who would it be? Galen Rowell, and Jimi Hendrix. The impact these two made on the culture we live in now was so great. They stayed so humble and dedicated. We would have plenty to talk about.

What did you do growing up that got you into trouble? Growing up I got in trouble with two things. One, was not calling my mom to tell her where I was and if I made it to my destination. Two, I never made it home before dark. I always stayed out as late as I could. Even now I still get in trouble for that!

Do you have a spirit animal? Wolf. I am a pack animal.

Where’s Waldo? I think in Tacoma, Washington. Instagram @whereisthewaldovan.
